AI no longer just writes… now it excites

21/06/2025

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) has made an impressive leap; it no longer just writes mechanical and soulless texts… it can now make you cry, laugh, or be surprised and create emotions like a real author.

What is happening:

  • AIs can create characters with complex psychology and elaborate plots.
  • Their texts are coherent, creative, and generate emotions in readers.
  • They mimic the styles of classic and contemporary authors with astonishing precision.

If AI writes with emotion and depth… do we still need writers? This advancement raises an inevitable debate about the future of human creativity in literature.

Is human creativity in danger?

For a long time, writers believed their talent was unique and impossible to imitate by a machine.

However, with advanced AI writing at a professional level, troubling questions arise:

  • Will human authors still have space in literature?
  • Who will be recognized as the author if a book is written by an AI?
  • Will literature lose its essence if stories no longer come from human imagination?

Real example:

In 2021, a story generated by AI was a finalist in a literary contest without the judges knowing it was written by a machine.

If an algorithm can write a story that moves us… what makes us different?

AI and writers: coexistence or competition?

Although AI has proven its ability to write, this does not mean that human writers should disappear. In reality, AI can become a powerful tool to enhance creativity.

Opportunities for human creativity:

  • AI can be a writing assistant, not a replacement.
  • Writers can use AI to streamline creative processes, generate ideas, and overcome blocks.
  • The real challenge will be to differentiate human stories from those created by algorithms.

Real example:

Screenwriters are already using AI to create drafts of scripts that they then refine with their human touch.

Perhaps it is not about choosing between humans or machines… but learning to coexist with artificial creativity.

Conclusion: Will the future of literature be written by humans or algorithms?

  • AIs can already write stories as well as humans… and that is changing the industry.
  • The dilemma is not whether AI will replace writers, but how it will coexist with them.
  • The future of literature could be a hybrid between human creativity and advanced technology.

So, the big question is:

  • Would you read a book if you knew it was written by an AI?
  • Is literature still art if created by an algorithm?
  • Is human creativity truly unique, or just a set of patterns that AI can learn?
