Artificial Intelligence and the New Economic Value

17/07/2025

For centuries, money was a convention, an agreement, a useful fiction. But today, with the emergence of artificial intelligence, that fiction is changing. This entry is not just a reflection: it is a warning. Value is no longer measured as it once was... and those who do not understand this will be left out of the new economic game.

From Labor to Computation: An Invisible but Unstoppable Change

For centuries, wealth was built on the tangible. First came land, then factories, and later human capital. Today, the new gold is in AI models, in data, and in computing power.

This is where everything changes: when an artificial intelligence can do more than a thousand humans, labor ceases to be the basis of value. And money... begins to lose its traditional form.

AI is Already Changing Your Relationship with Value

You don't need to be a programmer to notice it. Your bank is already using AI to decide whether to grant you credit. Your job can be evaluated – or replaced – by algorithms. The product you consume may have been designed by an AI.

The key question is: who is capturing that value? You... or the system?

Money is No Longer Measured Just in Hours Worked

Before: you worked → you produced → you earned. Today, it is not the one who works the most who earns, but the one who understands how value is generated with AI.

It's not just a corporate issue. It is also a personal conversation. Where do you invest your time? In what are you developing your skills? Do you know if your job will be augmented... or absorbed by an AI?

So, What Now?

We may be entering a new phase: one where we have to rethink money, value, and purpose.

Where will the wealth of the future come from? Who will generate it? Who will control it?

Because if value no longer depends on what you do, but on how you interact with intelligent systems... then the new capital will be your understanding of the system.

Value is Redefined. Are You Doing It Too?

Artificial intelligence will not only transform work. It will transform our deepest rules: what is valuable, why it is valuable, and who decides.

Money is no longer just bills or balances. It is access. It is data. It is computation capacity.

And if we don’t see it coming... we will be left out of the new economy before we realize it has already started.

Tell me in the comments: Do you think money will continue to exist as we know it? Or are we entering an era where the ability to use AI will be the new currency?
