What if the problem is not AI... but how you are adopting it?

20/06/2025

Some business leaders today repeat the same complaint when faced with an issue regarding AI...

— “Artificial intelligence doesn’t work.”

— “It hasn’t worked for me.”

— “I don’t see results.”

But... what if the problem wasn’t AI?

What if the real barrier lies within us?

The invisible barrier is not technical. It’s cultural.

In a key conversation between John Hernández and David Hurtado, head of innovation at Microsoft, a powerful phrase emerged:

“The challenge is not the software. It’s trust.”

AI can already write, analyze, predict, automate.

But if you don’t know what you want it for, if you don’t redesign your way of operating, or if you’re not ready to relinquish control...

then AI will just be another trend.

Many companies are failing... in adoption.

David Hurtado clearly warns:

There are companies that have already implemented AI... but don’t know why.

Others delegate tasks but don’t redesign their processes.

Many more think that “putting AI” is enough... without transforming the culture.

What’s the result?

Frustration.

And when that happens, the perfect excuse appears:

“AI doesn't work.”

But the truth is different:

what isn’t working is how we are leading the change.

To lead... or to control?

There are still leaders trapped in an old logic:

  • They have to have all the answers.
  • Making mistakes is a sign of weakness.
  • Automating means losing control.

But AI demands the opposite:

  • Leadership that delegates, not controls.
  • Teams with permission to experiment and fail.
  • Cultures that learn faster than the competition.

Is the problem really with AI?

AI does not reward perfection.

It rewards those who learn, adapt, and evolve.

Is your company ready to innovate without fear?

This is not about hiring a Chief AI Officer.

Nor about buying the “most powerful software on the market.”

It’s about asking yourself an uncomfortable question:

“Is my company ready to innovate... without fear of making mistakes?”

Because if the answer is no, then:

  • Not even the best AI model.
  • Or the best provider.
  • Not even the best training

Will get you out of the same place.

Conclusion: before investing in AI... invest in your culture

Artificial intelligence does not transform companies by itself.

What transforms is the combination of culture, leadership, and trust.

Because without empowered teams, without agile structures, and without an open mindset... no algorithm can perform magic.

And you... are you ready to build a culture that is ready for artificial intelligence?
